The fitting of the pivoting doors designed by Petr Janda / brainwork architectural studio at Prague’s Rašínovo nábřeží embankment was preceded by the production of a technical mock-up, the fixing of steel frames and the subsequent installation of elliptical lenses made of acrylic glass, which are up to 7 cm thick. The doors open by means of an electric motor installed below the floor level. The entire 10.5 hour process to install the largest lens in cubicle No. 6 was shot by our cameraman Ondřej Pekárek.
The City of Prague accepted all 20 reconstructed cubicles for use in early September 2019.
