Long-term support for Olověný Dušan and student Experiences from Sipral
28 March 2019 – This year saw the twenty-sixth edition of the cult Olověný Dušan competition for students in the fields of architecture and design at the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University. The gala soiree with the announcement of the results was held at the Centre for Architectural and Municipal Planning (CAMP). As a long-term partner of the competition, Sipral could not be left out. It also granted support for the second time to Experiences, another student project organised by the Friends of Architecture Association.
Regular students in the field could participate in the Olověný Dušan competition. The winners are always announced in two categories: best project and best studio as a whole. Every year, an independent jury composed of leading Czech architects and designers awards the Olověný Dušan statuette.
This year, the awards for best project and studio went to:,
Design:
- Vít Bednář – Kiton hanger – Jaroš|Bednář (project)
- Streit|Polák – Porcelain socket – lamp (studio)
- Architecture:
- Kristýna Vyslychová – Komunitní sportovní centrum pod Nuselským mostem (Community Sports Centre under Nuselský bridge) – Císler|Pazdera (project)
- Císler|Pazdera – Jammertahl – Nusle Valley (studio)
As a part of supporting young architects, Sipral partook for the second time in the Experiences project, which strives to mediate real knowledge from architecture, building construction and design to students of the Faculty of Architecture and Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University. In March 2019, Martin Binovec, Chief Operations Officer and Member of the Board of Sipral a.s., explained the challenges and pitfalls of installing the façade on the Copenhagen Amager Bakke waste-to-energy plant to the full Klubovna audience.
